He's on fire!" – Jude Bellingham hails 'brilliant' Kylian Mbappe after Real Madrid superstar nets hat-trick in Champions League rout of Man City.

Jude Bellingham has lavished praise on his Real Madrid teammate Kylian Mbappe after the French forward delivered a sensational hat trick to eliminate Manchester City from the Champions League.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Mbappe produced a dazzling display as Real Madrid stormed past Manchester City with a 3-1 victory, securing their place in the competition's last 16. Bellingham was full of admiration for the No. 9 after the match, telling TNT Sports, “He is flying, and it’s so good to see.”

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Despite a late consolation goal from Nico Gonzalez, City could not halt Madrid's charge, led by an unstoppable Mbappe. The former PSG star struck twice in the first half and completed his hat trick on the hour mark. After a slow start to his Madrid tenure, Mbappe is now hitting top form at a crucial time.

WHAT BELLINGHAM SAID

Reflecting on his partnership with Mbappe, Bellingham said, “It is brilliant playing with him. You go into games knowing you can give him the ball, and he is going to affect things. Our jobs behind him and the rest of the front three is to try and get them into the best positions possible, and I myself try and get in the box too. You know when Kylian gets the ball in the areas he likes on the pitch, he is going to be dangerous. Left foot or right foot. He scored a few different types of goals today. It is incredible what he has done in his career. I know he had a slow start here and took time getting used to life here. Now he is flying, and it's so good to see.”

WHAT'S NEXT FOR MADRID?

With their place in the last 16 secured, Real Madrid will face either city rivals Atletico Madrid or Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen in the next round. However, Carlo Ancelotti's side will be without Bellingham, who will serve a suspension after collecting his third yellow card of the tournament against City.
