New iPhone Feature: Circle to Search

Google Brings ‘Circle to Search’ to iPhone with Some Limitations

Google has introduced its popular "Circle to Search" feature to iPhone users. Originally launched on Android devices in 2024, the feature has gained significant popularity due to its AI-driven functionality. However, the iPhone version comes with certain restrictions.

On iPhones, this feature is renamed Search Screen with Google Lens and requires users to install the Google Lens app. Unlike its Android counterpart, it is limited to the Chrome browser and the Google app. To access it, users need to tap the three-line menu at the top right of these apps. From there, they can highlight, draw around, or tap on any on-screen content without leaving their current view.

The primary goal of this feature is to enhance the browsing experience on Chrome and Google. It also enables visual searches, making it easier to gather information instantly. Google states that Search Screen with Google Lens works best within the Chrome app, allowing users to quickly look up products, details, and more—without opening a new tab or taking a screenshot.
